Casale Aurelia is situated halfway between the centres of Cecina and Donoratico,
on the old 'Aurelia' road, and is conveniently located 3000 meters from the beach.
It is a recently restorer 19th century stone farmhouse surrounded by a large garden
and has an area for car parking. At Marina di Bibbona, 3kms away, you will find 15kms
of beach and pine forest. The former, unlike many Italian beaches, boasts free entry,
and both are easily accessible by car or bicycle. Casale Aurelia is located along the
route of an enchanting wine and gourmet itinerary, The Wine Road ( La Strada del Vino ).
The itinerary includes Castellina, Montescudaio, Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri
(Sassicaia), which are all renowned wine growing regions. The house is also close to
charming centres of historic interest such as Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci, Casale Marittimo,
Volterra, San Gimignano, Pisa, Massa Marittima, Populonia and many others.
The island of Elba is close by, and numerous ferries connect Piombino to Porto Ferraio in
just under an hour. Only 25kms from Casale Aurelia there is also the thermal pool of
Calidario di Caldana. The hot spring water that runs into this natural lake is at a
constant temperature of 37°C which, makes bathing possible all throughout the year.
The surrounding pIains and rolling hills present ideal terrain for bicycling for all the family.
The endless beaches, and the pine forest tucked behind the sand dunes, are perfect locations
for late evening walks to enjoy the unforgettable sunsets. As are the hillside forests, with
their vegetation typical of the Mediterranean area, which host deer, bore, foxes and other wild anirnals.
It is also possible to take advantage of one of the frequent horse riding tours that are
conducted in the area. The many archaeological remains, that can be found all over the region,
attest to the ancient civilisations that flourished in this part of Tuscany, from the prehistoric
populations to the Italic Indo-Europeans to the Etruscans and Romans. Wherever you go you will find,
carved into the hillsides, medieval villages that are framed by olive groves, pine, cypress and oak trees.
SWIMMING POOL A small round swimming-pool, (6,40 in diameter, 1,20 in height), installed out of the ground, is at the guests'disposal in the garden. It can be used from June to the first half of September. WHERE TO GO SHOPPING? The closest stores are at Marina di Bibbona (3 kms), whilst larger supermarkets can be found at Cecina and Donoratico, respectiveIy 8 kms north and south of Casale AureIia (some of these are also opened on Sunday momings). A large commercial centre can be found not far from La Califomia that is 6kms along the Bibbona road. MARKETS The local markets are held as follows; PUBBLIC TRASPORT TRAIN SERVICES The Bolgheri railway station is located 700m from Casale Aurelia. The station is on the line that runs between Genova and Rome. Rapid connections to Rome-Termini (3 hours), Florence S.Maria Novella (90 mins) and Pisa (40 mins) leave frequently from the Cecina station. BUS SERVICES Buses depart frequently for Cecina-Livorno and for Piombino-Grosseto from the bus stop 400m from Casale Aurelia. TRASPORT RENTAL AGENCIES Agents for bicycle, scooter and car hire can be found at Marina di Bibbona. It has two terraces that open onto the garden, a large kitchen/living area that contains a double sofa bed, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Of the two bedrooms one contains a double bed, and the other two singles. APARTMENT-TYPE B
This 35 square metres ground floor apartment is suitable for 4 people. It comprises a kitchen/living room with one double sofa bed which is separated by a built in wardrobe room divider from the double bed room. The apartment has a bathroom whith bath and a large terrace. APARTMENT-TYPE C,D,E
These 60 square metres apartments are ideaI for 6 people. The apartments have a kitchen/living room area with a double sofa bed, two bedrooms and bathroom with bath. Of the two bedrooms one contains a double bed, and the other two singles. APARTMENT-TYPE B2 The apartment B2, of 45 square meters, is ideal for 4 people. It is situated on the ground floor and opens onto the garden. it as a kitchen/living area that contains one double sofa bed, one double bedroom, one bathroom (with bath, WC and washbasin) and a large terrace. The internal walls are "sasso a vista" ("stones in sight"). APARTMENT-TYPE C2 The apartment C2, of 60 square meters, is ideal for 6 people. It is also situated on the ground floor and as a kitchen/living area that contains one double sofa bed, two bedrooms (one with a double bed, the other with two single beds), one bathroom (with bath, WC and washbasin) and terrace. All the above-mentioned apartments have the use of the garden. |

WEEKLY TARIFF
The price is inclusive of electricity and the consumption of gas in the kitchen and for the water heater. The price does not include heating which would be added to the tariff. A fee of € 30 is to be paid by the clients when leaving the apartment in a state that requires a cleaning service. The deposit required with every weekly reservation will be between € 80 a € 180 depending on the season. On arrival the balance will be required plus a caution of € 100. The caution will be returned on the moming of departure if all is in order. The renting terms are weekly, which is calculated from Saturday to Saturday. Guests will be welcomed between 16.00 and 18.00 Saturdays and are required to leave the apartment between 8.00 and 10.00 the following Saturday. In the apartment there aren't sheets and towels. |
